The insert
There’s nothing wrong with your bulletin. There’s something wrong with paper.
It’s a good sheet. Somebody on your team works hard on it every week. The problem is that it stops the moment the service does.
It gets recycled on the way out
The insert did its job for about forty minutes. Most of them are in the bin or the back seat before dinner, and nothing about that is anyone’s fault — paper just can’t do anything after Sunday.
It has to be finished on Thursday
Print deadlines mean the bulletin is locked days before the service, so the one thing it can never include is the message itself.
Nobody can tell if it worked
You print 250 and count what’s left on the chairs. That’s the whole feedback loop.

The bulletin doesn’t end. It becomes the next thing.

Nothing changed on the hillside — the change was in the servant. Elisha doesn't ask God to send the army; he asks God to open his servant's eyes to what was already there.
